Great venues for corporate retreats

Three US resorts that take corporate groups, in three different regions. They are public resorts, so your team will share the grounds with other guests. A local planner arranges which meeting rooms, meals and times are yours. Confirm room counts, meeting rooms and dining arrangements for your dates before you hold anything.

Mohonk Mountain House, New Paltz, NY

A Hudson Valley mountain resort with 262 guest rooms and suites and 14 meeting rooms, all with natural light, AV and Wi-Fi. Overnight stays include three meals a day, so most of the food plan comes with the room. Stewart International (SWF) in Newburgh is 25 miles away, and Albany International is 70 miles away.

Best for
A company retreat that wants meeting rooms, bedrooms and meals at one property in the Northeast. Its two largest rooms, the Parlor and the Conference House, suit whole-group sessions.
Check first
Which meeting rooms you'll have for plenary and breakouts on your dates, how the included meal times fit your agenda, and ground transfers from SWF or Albany.

Best for
A Southeast company retreat that needs a range of meeting room sizes, from boardroom-scale rooms to ballrooms, and plenty of dining choice without leaving the property.
Check first
Which meeting rooms suit your group's size, and how they sit next to other groups' events. Also check banquet menus against your dietary list, and transfers from AVL.

Skamania Lodge, Stevenson, WA

A Columbia River Gorge resort that hosts retreats and offsite meetings. It has 254 rooms, 23 meeting rooms and more than 22,000 sq ft of indoor meeting space; the largest room is the Stevenson Ballroom. The Cascade Dining Room serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, alongside the River Rock Lounge and the Backyard Grill. Portland International (PDX), across the river in Oregon, is the gateway airport.

Best for
A West Coast company retreat that mixes working sessions with time outdoors, with meeting space, dining and team-building options at one property.
Check first
Room types for your dates, including the treehouses, cabins and villas. Also confirm ground transfers from PDX, which rooms you'll use for plenary and breakouts, and how your group shares the resort with golf, spa and leisure guests.
