What is Event Experience?

Event Experience is a destination management company and event production agency in Seattle, founded in 2001 by Michelle Couch, its president. The company plans and produces corporate events across Seattle, Portland, Spokane and the wider Pacific Northwest, both for local companies and for groups bringing programs to the region. Its in-house team covers event strategy, design, audiovisual and technical production, transportation and entertainment. The company lists memberships including MPI, PCMA, ADMEI, ILEA, the DMC Network and Visit Seattle, and Michelle Couch holds the Destination Management Certified Professional credential. Its most detailed case study is a company-wide retreat for a Seattle-based outdoor retailer, which closed its stores and offices for two days to bring employees in from across the country. Event Experience was brought in on a timeline of under three months, without a set budget or program, and helped shape both while securing a converted airport hangar at Magnuson Park. The work included city permits for the venue and for fire-cooked catering, airport pickups straight to the hangar, a staffed bag drop and hotel keycards loaded in advance. Inside, the program rotated through ax throwing, a climbing wall, Airstream karaoke, skateboarding, giant Jenga and a screen-printing station using designs by one of the client's own artists. A giant LED wall replaced a standard screen because of the hangar's daylight. A client identified on the case study as Erin thanked the team for helping "pull off an incredible retreat for our team." The company has also brought hands-on activations to a smaller leadership gathering. Its custom beanie bar, where guests pick colors and patches that are pressed on site, has run at a board retreat as well as at a conference and a holiday party. Most of the remaining portfolio is company celebrations and client events in the Seattle area. Published projects include a holiday party at the Museum of Pop Culture, a company picnic at T-Mobile Park, an employee awards night, charity giveback events, a VIP dinner at The Woodmark Hotel and conference receptions. The company names Amazon and Fred Hutch among its clients.
