What is Event Mechanics Co.?

Event Mechanics Co. is a Dallas-based destination management and event production company led by Ryan Bertolino, its president and creative director. On its site the firm describes its work as meetings, travel and events for corporations, and its team page says Ryan brings more than fifteen years in the meeting, travel and events industry, with design awards from ILEA and the Texas Star Awards. Retreats show up in the portfolio as fully produced programs rather than a line on a menu. For an international law firm, which the site leaves unnamed, the company describes a four-day executive retreat in Dallas that included a VIP experience at a residential compound in North Texas, with lounge areas and activation stations for downtime, catering by Chef Dean Fearing and an intimate poolside dinner at the home of Chef Kent Rathbun. For BCG, the brief was what the firm calls an experiential staff ranch retreat, a day of games, activities and entertainment for all ages. On its home page, the company also pitches its travel management services to teams heading off on a company retreat. The rest of the body of work leans toward large, theatrical corporate events. The firm lists a 2023 World Series gala for the Texas Rangers, a run of themed productions for Pioneer Natural Resources, including one built around a ski-chalet theme, and a 25th-anniversary team-building event for JMI Equity. Its services cover venue and hotel sourcing, transportation, themed décor, entertainment and sports hospitality programs. The site lists core values that include quick responses, honest communication and long-term relationships. For a Dallas company that wants a retreat with a strong sense of place and real production polish, Event Mechanics Co. offers a local DMC with a designer's eye.
