What is Mint Collective?

Mint Collective is a woman-owned experience design agency that plans corporate retreats and brand activations, usually in natural settings away from the hotel conference room. Its website gives a business address in Phoenix, Arizona. The business began as Mint Studios in San Diego in late 2016, founded by Jayme Sanders, according to a 2020 profile by the Global Day of Unplugging. It describes itself as working at the meeting point of experience design, event production and creative agency, and as a collective that includes artists, wellness specialists, outdoor culinary experts and creators. Retreats are a large part of the published work. For IDEO, Mint Collective produced a five-day leadership retreat in Sedona, Arizona, that mixed working sessions with outdoor time, including a Jeep trail ride to a Leave No Trace dinner among the red rocks. InTown Suites' leadership team spent a two-day retreat at Getaway's Coosa River Outpost in Georgia, with open-air meetings, a wood-burning workshop, kayaking and local winery and brewery visits. Founders Fund held its annual retreat at AutoCamp Russian River, with wood-fired dinners under the redwoods, fireside chats and stargazing. Whitman Peterson is a repeat retreat client. According to Mint Collective, it has produced the firm's Annual General Meeting four years in a row, including one at AutoCamp Cape Cod and the last three at Sundance Mountain Resort in Utah, combining strategy sessions with dinners, live performances and a closing hike. Other retreat work in its gallery includes events in Zion, Moab, Sequoia National Park and the Catskills. Brand activations make up the rest of the portfolio, often staged at outdoor hospitality properties such as AutoCamp, Under Canvas and Getaway. Its case studies and gallery list work for Vuori, Google, Intuit, Volkswagen and Reese's Book Club, from product launches and influencer events to drive experiences and pop-up gifting. Hands-on experiences are a signature. The agency offers group activities such as wood burning, appliqué and embroidery bars, outdoor cooking classes, sauna and contrast-therapy lounges and stargazing, which it brings to its own events and to partner planners' programs.
