Staying local.

San Antonio is about 80 miles from Austin, roughly 1 hour 15 minutes to 1.5 hours on I-35 in normal traffic. Add 20–40 minutes at rush hour.

A sample two- to three-day agenda.

San Antonio works as a two-day drive-in kickoff, with a River Walk dinner on the first night. Nashville and New Orleans reward a free evening. In Las Vegas, keep the agenda tight and the evenings optional.

  1. Day 0. Arrivals and a welcome reception.
  2. Day 1. CEO or CRO keynote, product and compensation-plan sessions, segment breakouts, and a team dinner.
  3. Day 2. Enablement workshops and role-play, a customer or partner panel, and an awards night.
  4. Day 3, optional. A half-day leadership session, then departures.

Why a local planner, with Vantly.

Local planners and designers know venue availability, seasonal patterns, and vendors. Vantly adds centralized billing, a shared agenda, guest registration, an AI event builder, and multi-currency support.

Questions planners ask first.

Short answers for a Q1 sales kickoff.

What is the easiest no-flight kickoff from Austin?

San Antonio, about 1 hour 15 minutes to 1.5 hours on I-35.

Is Nashville warmer than Austin in Q1?

No. Nashville averages about 49°F by day in January and has 4–4.5 inches of rain a month, so plan indoor programming.

What should an Austin team know about New Orleans in February?

Mardi Gras is February 9, 2027, and Carnival parades fill the weeks before it from January 6. Parades bring energy and closed streets. Pick dates deliberately.

Which Q1 dates should an Austin team avoid?

CES in Las Vegas (January 6–9, 2027), and the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo (February 11–28) if you need downtown rooms there.

Which option suits a 300-person kickoff?

Las Vegas, San Antonio or Nashville. Mandalay Bay has 3,209 rooms, Gaylord Opryland 2,888, and the Grand Hyatt San Antonio 1,003.
