Staying local.

San Antonio is about 275 miles from Dallas on I-35. Allow about 4–5 hours, longer in peak traffic around Waco and Austin. Most groups will prefer the roughly 1-hour flight.

A sample two- to three-day agenda.

In New Orleans, set the awards dinner in the French Quarter but check the Carnival parade calendar first. In San Antonio, a River Walk dinner is the natural closing night. In Scottsdale and San Diego, outdoor receptions are realistic all quarter.

  1. Day 0. Arrivals and a welcome reception.
  2. Day 1. CEO or CRO keynote, product and compensation-plan sessions, segment breakouts, and a team dinner.
  3. Day 2. Enablement workshops and role-play, a customer or partner panel, and an awards night.
  4. Day 3, optional. A half-day leadership session, then departures.

Questions planners ask first.

Short answers for a Q1 sales kickoff.

Can a DFW team stay in Texas for the kickoff?

Yes. San Antonio has convention hotels on the River Walk. It is about 4–5 hours by car on I-35 or about an hour by air.

Where will a Dallas team find the warmest Q1 weather?

Scottsdale, at about 68°F by day in January and 78°F in March, with very little rain. San Diego is milder and steadier at about 66–67°F.

How does Mardi Gras affect a New Orleans kickoff?

Mardi Gras Day falls on February 9, 2027, and Carnival season runs from January 6. Parade weekends compress hotel space and close streets, so schedule outside them or build the program around one.

Which Q1 dates are busiest in San Antonio?

The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo runs February 11–28, 2027. It is a fun evening out, but it adds demand for downtown hotels.

Which hotel works for a 200-person DFW kickoff?

All four hotels do. The Grand Hyatt San Antonio has about 115,000 square feet of function space, and the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina about 271,000.
